The concept of a Cooperative
-- people with a common bond working together
for the benefit of everyone in the group --
wasn't always as widely recognized as it is today.
But that didn't stop a handful of Vero Beach City employees in 1959,
who deposited $5 each to start a Not-For-Profit Cooperative
that quickly became Indian River Federal Credit Union.
While many things have changed since that humble beginning,
the purpose of our Cooperative remains the same:
to help our Members save money on "banking" products and services.
In fact, many of our Members SAVE HUNDREDS
for their families each year,
simply by doing their "banking"
at Indian River Federal Credit Union.*
Now that's cool.
Membership in Indian River Federal Credit Union is open to those who live, work, worship or attend school in Indian River County. Deposits are insured up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration, backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government, just like the FDIC.
